Modern Mediterranean

Silver Spurs Modern Mediterranean Farmhouse

Located in the prestigious and unique community of Bridle Trails in Kirkland, this Estate-quality custom home is truly in a league of its own. The property’s rare horse acre lot lent itself to a one-of-a-kind design featuring over 5,800 square feet of livable space, a pool and covered outdoor living area, a sprawling front courtyard and patio and three-car garage. The real jewel of this home is the two-story Atrium flanked by glass, featuring a 350-pound La Cantina iron front door and custom-welded and fabricated steel and glass staircase. Utmost importance was placed on the relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces, and views of the pool can be enjoyed from nearly every room of the home.

Boasting four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a home office, expansive laundry room and covered outdoor living space that runs nearly the length of the house, this home has no shortage of space to relax and unwind.

A feature worth praise is the 32 foot La Cantina sliding glass wall that leads out to expansive covered outdoor living area. The La Cantina door required an 8,000 pound steel beam, dropped in during framing by crane. This special wall allows a seamless flow for entertaining, blending the inside and outside areas.

The Grand Kitchen and full-length prep kitchen – the Scullery – are centrally located in the home. The oversized island is topped with quartzite, a natural stone, and the backsplash is a single slab of quartzite as well. The unique walnut endgrain butcher block counter wraps the end of the island for a natural element, and the appliance package is Miele. The grand Great Room is punctuated by a double-sided fireplace flanked by open shelving. The grandiose Dining Room was in need of a special touch, so a custom speakeasy bar was added to the plan during construction. Not to leave a space unnamed, the Sun Hall leads to the private courtyard with patio seating area and outdoor fireplace wired in. One of our favorite, and most loved, spaces in this home is the moody Powder Bath with grasscloth wall coverings, custom sink and vanity fabricated from Pental quartzite, and Fantini fixtures.

Up the custom stairs, and past the feature wall with LED uplights lies the Primary Suite. The Primary Bath features quartzite counters, a spa soaking tub and oversized shower with rain shower and dual heads. It is finished with iron accents that mirror both the staircase and the custom forged steel and white oak shelving system in the Primary Closet. The shelving was made to match the wide plank European white oak flooring throughout the home, a flooring choice that adds warmth and character.

Entertaining spaces include the moody Media Room, which is finished with 5.1 surround sound. There is a bar area and fridge, and the Bellmont cabinets received a special touch after installation with brass mesh detailing. The home enjoys Lutron Caseta lighting automation throughout. The 20’x40’ pool was custom designed with a sun deck for lounging, and includes underwater speakers and deck jets. Additional outdoor features of note are the integrated overhead heaters and a water feature at the entry for ambient noise.
