Cayson Fields 5

Modern Farmhouse on Mercer Island

The last of the Modern Farmhouses in our Cayson Fields boutique community, Lot 5 is a unique and rare floor plan offering 7 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms including a full suite in the lower level. Situated over 5,800+ square feet, the home boasts open and flexible living spaces throughout all three levels. Special attention to finishes were paid to this home, including the Epicurean Kitchen & Scullery and Spa Primary Bath.

The floor plan was redesigned from the architects original plan to include a lower level MIL/ADU, or Nanny’s Quarters with a private, separate entrance. The color palette selected for this home was unique, with a nod to California Modern, featuring layered neutrals of gray tones and wood tones, offset by glossy tile and gold fixtures.

The kitchen boasts a scullery, or separate large pantry that doubles as a prep area. Of course, the high-end appliance package is by Wolf and SubZero with dual Cove dishwashers. The SubZero is a 48” six-burner range with griddle and dual ovens. The Elkay farmhouse cast-iron sink was chosen for its farmhouse aesthetic, and we’ve finished it with a Brizo smart-touch faucet. Grain colored cabinets with a slight texture were chosen throughout the kitchen – including the covered range hood – apart from the black cabinetry flanking the island. Toe-kick and ambient lighting was added for differing types of light, at different times of day. Additionally, there is an all-seasons covered Outdoor Living Room with built-in Infratech heaters.

The Scullery, or a “kitchen behind the kitchen” is a separate prep area and is perfect in design for additional storage. This space also holds an additional dishwasher and here we’ve added cabinets through for storage.

Rounding out the main level is a Great Room with 60” Crave gas fireplace, Guest Suite, Mudroom Drop Zone with built-in cabinetry, bench and hooks. There is an additional Home Office. The Powder Bath features a stunning wall of mosaic tile that we call a feature wall, punctuated by gold fixtures.

The 2-story entry is dramatic and boasts a dramatically modern 40”x40” chandelier, chosen to mirror the chandelier in the Primary Closet.

The Primary Suite and Bath have turned out to be one of our favorites of the plat, with a Silestone quartz in Desert Silver and heated tile floor installed in a herringbone pattern. The warm and spa-like tones are offset with gold sconces, rain shower and dual handhelds. The soaking tub also has a gold freestanding tub filler.
